- Dragon Boat Canada sterring certification, with Dan Levine, Sylvain Laberge and P-O Girard, May 11, 2025.
- Emergency First Aid Level C training is also available on April 12, 2025.
Coaching Level 1 Dragon Boat Canada, March 15-16, 2025
This program will give you the tools you need to coach a community team. It includes technical and safety fundamentals, creating a variety of exercises, and planning workouts for a full season. You'll also learn about race tactics to optimize performance in competition, all in a positive and structured environment!
In summary, Level 1 coaching training will enable you to coach a community-level team (intermediate level), guiding athletes in their technical and strategic development. You'll be there at local or regional competitions, helping to build team spirit and improve overall group performance.
Course schedule:
Day 1: Theory of dragon boat coaching. Learning safety rules, simulation exercises.
Day 2: The basics of planning an intermediate-level dragon boat training program and simulation exercises.
* Level 1 does not include steering certification. Course content emphasizes coaching.

Mandatory requirements to obtain your certification:
You must provide three proofs of the following certifications: (you can complete them before or after the March 15-16 training session):
- A First Aid and CPR certificate ( if your CPR is not up to date, training is available on April 12 at the basin)
- BOATSMART Pleasure Craft Operator Certification (online)
- Sport Safety Certification - FREE (online)

Registration Level 1
Instructor Level Dragon Boat Canada, May 10-11, 2025
You know the old expression: you never get a second chance to make a good first impression! This program gives you the keys to becoming a true dragon boat initiation Jedi, capable of creating a memorable and positive experience that will inspire enthusiasm and passion in your students from their very first introduction to the sport.
The Dragon Boat Canada Instructor level is a course that will allow you to take charge of initiation groups and steer a boat (part steering). Whether for corporate events, school groups, fundraising events or 4-session introductory programs, this course will teach you the basics of coaching, with an emphasis on safety on the water. The Instructor level gives you both coaching certification and Bateau dragon Canada steering accreditation.
Course of the program:
Day 1: Theory of dragon boat coaching. Learning safety rules, role-playing.
Day 2: Practical part* ( steering clinic): You learn how to steer a dragon boat! The steering clinic takes place mainly on the water, with two short sessions on land for the theoretical part. We keep it interactive, fun and challenging!
* If you already have your steering accreditation, you don't need to take the second day of training (learning to steer).

- Who should attend? People aged 16 and over who want to learn how to coach an introductory group and learn how to steer a dragon boat.
- When? May 10 and 11, 2025, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Quartier des Athlètes in the Olympic Basin.
- Registration fee: $250 =+tx
- Notes: The course is given in French. The Instructor level gives you both coaching certification and Bateau dragon Canada steering accreditation. Possibility of virtual training for the first day (to be confirmed).

Registration Instructor LevelDragon Boat Canada Steering Certification, May 11, 2025
Our steering clinic is the perfect opportunity for you to learn how to steer a dragon boat. It is intended for people with or without experience!
If your goal is to supervise introductory groups, manage a community team or organize corporate or school events, instructor level program is better suited to meet your needs!
Program procedure:
The helmsman clinic takes place mainly on the water, including short sessions on land for the theoretical part. We make sure that the whole thing is interactive and fun with a certain challenge!
Program details:
- Instructors: Dan Levine, Sylvain Laberge and Pierre-Olivier Girard
- For whom? People aged 16 and over who want to learn how to steer a dragon boat.
- When and where? May 11 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Olympic Basin.
- Registration fee: $155.00 plus taxes
- Notes: The program is given in French and English. Steering accreditation is not dragon boat coaching training. It focuses only on learning the techniques for steering a dragon boat.
